Nightly Update, Camp NaNoWriMo Day 11

Dunno how I'm gonna write this villain yetHaving to spend time in my Antagonist’s head is giving me a headache. Seriously. Having to think the way he does, having to look at the world through his eyes, makes me shudder. We’re so different, he and I. I hope. He’s planning to do some things of which I do not approve. I am so not living vicariously through him. Nope. Not. The way he thinks makes my brain hurt and I find it challenging to write for him at all. I’ve written villains before and had great fun. But this one, oy! Gonna take some work to make him more of a person. I don’t want him to be a cardboard character, he has to be real flesh and blood. Well, not real flesh and blood because he is a fictional character. But he has to seem like a real person when you read the story. And for that to happen I’ve got to make him real to me. Hmm…

The War on HumansIn related news, I tweeted this link earlier but just in case you missed it, here it is: the Voluntary Human Extinction Movement. “Returning Earth to its natural splendor and ending needless suffering of humanity…” By voluntarily allowing the human race to become extinct. Yes, that’s right, by going the way of the dinosaurs. It’s not a joke. I wish it were. These people are serious. How did I find out about them? I found out about VHEMT (and other movements, like Deep Ecology) by reading the War on Humans, by Wesley J. Smith (also at Discovery Institute, article database, National Review, First Things, LifeSiteNews, The Weekly Standard, and @forcedexit on Twitter), as part of my ongoing research. Check out the documentary. Get the eBook for $1.99: Kindle version, iBook version, Nook version. And, no, I don’t make one cent off anything I recommend on the blog.

Thank you for visiting and reading. God bless you and peace be with you!

Word count goal for the month: 50K. Nightly: 1,667. Tonight: Over Just over 2K. Total: Over 30K. Woohoo!

About Disciple

I am a pro-life activist, blogger, writer, poet, singer songwriter, musician, photographer, nerd, bookworm and Mac fan. I have two dogs, one of whom is well-travelled. (I had three for a while after adopting a senior dog, but he has now passed away, and the pack is back to two girl dogs. One was born after, the days of mammoth road trips.) And the most important thing is: I was received into Holy Mother Church in 1996 and, through the grace of God, I love Christ and His Church more with every passing day. Thanks be to God!

Short stories, I’ve written very few, started many. ;) For NaNoWriMo in November the rules are stricter, but for the other sessions (Camp) it’s anything goes. So you could probably set a word count goal for a short story or collection of them and do that instead of a novel. Whatever works. :)

As the weather continues to warm up, I’m looking forward to doing something with my yard. Gardening, maybe. At least a little. Your blog will help! :)

Thanks for reading and commenting, Marty. God bless you! :)
