I admit it, I am a huge Tolkien fan

I am a huge Tolkien fan. Huge. Well, not I’m not huge, oh, you know what I mean. I found some pretty cool looking films a few minutes ago, made by other (and far more talented) fans of J.R.R.T. The Hunt for Gollum and Born of Hope are films made by fans for fans and I can’t think of a better way to spend an evening than curled up with my doggies watching my favorite world of wizards and other denizens of Middle Earth swirl across the laptop screen. (Trailers below with links to full movies.)

Full movie.

Full movie.

Okay, writing that sentence made me realize that I’ve sat here long enough today, looking at more maps and trying to find name lists to help me name my characters in the story I’m writing. Food, must have food. Oh, before I dive into my broccoli and cheddar soup (not literally, but, then again, I am very hungry), I must share this with you too. It’s a crazy DJ gadget for all you iPad lovers out there. I’ve only played with an iPad once but I gotta tell you, I liked it a lot. So I’m posting this video here too. Mainly because the blog was looking so lonely and forlorn when I checked in here today. I’m sure it thinks I don’t love it any more, but I do, yes, I do, good bloggie, that’s my little bloggie, mommy wuvs you, yes, she does. All right, that’s it. Time for nourishment! Enjoy the vids.

About Disciple

I am a pro-life activist, blogger, writer, poet, singer songwriter, musician, photographer, nerd, bookworm and Mac fan. I have two dogs, one of whom is well-travelled. (I had three for a while after adopting a senior dog, but he has now passed away, and the pack is back to two girl dogs. One was born after, the days of mammoth road trips.) And the most important thing is: I was received into Holy Mother Church in 1996 and, through the grace of God, I love Christ and His Church more with every passing day. Thanks be to God!

Have you read the latest book that came out from Tolkien (his son put it together from JRR’s notes)? I saw it the other day… it’s supposed to be quite amazing.

(I just realized I had misspelled JRRT’s name. Yeah, I’m a huge fan, but not huge enough to spell his name right. Oy.)

Howdy, JW! I have not read the latest book. Is that the Legend of Sigurd and Gudrun? I’ve read the Saga of the Volsungs but not the Tolkien version. You know, there is always another book that I simply must have. One more book…or couple…a couple million, that is.
