Banning an activity by legalizing it

Yeah, I know it sounds crazy. But that is exactly what the Hatch-Feinstein “ban on cloning bill” did: it legalized cloning. And not just cloning, but the buying of embryos for cloning and harvesting. Read the article about it at Discovery Institute. And this happened a few years ago! I had no idea. I also did not know that this has been going on in other countries (The Netherlands, for example). And fetal cloning is legal in New Jersey? Is that what I just read? Can that be right?

I’ll post more on this and the subject of bioethics as I discover more this week. Bioethics. Seems like we ought to call what we’re doing “bio-lack-of-ethics”. Good grief.

About Disciple

I am a pro-life activist, blogger, writer, poet, singer songwriter, musician, photographer, nerd, bookworm and Mac fan. I have two dogs, one of whom is well-travelled. (I had three for a while after adopting a senior dog, but he has now passed away, and the pack is back to two girl dogs. One was born after, the days of mammoth road trips.) And the most important thing is: I was received into Holy Mother Church in 1996 and, through the grace of God, I love Christ and His Church more with every passing day. Thanks be to God!
